Meet the Pastor

Pastor Mikhael Afichuk

Mikhael Afichuk was born in Hinchesti, Moldova but raised in Federal Way, WA, where he was saved at the age of sixteen. It was at the same time that God put a burden on his heart to preach the Gospel to every creature. Consequently, he attended Pensacola Christian College where he studied Pastoral Ministries. After receiving his degree (B.A.) from PCC, he continued his education at Pensacola Theological Seminary. Halfway through his degree, he met his wife Dina when visiting his home church in WA during winter break and they were married the next year (2017). They would attend Scenic Bay as interns for the first year of their marriage. After finishing his degree (M.A.) at PTS, they would move back to WA to work at a Christian School. While there, they were blessed by God with a little girl, Sofi.

In 2020, Mike received a call from the previous Pastor of Scenic Bay, Gary Dickman, offering him a mentorship as his assistant pastor. This led to a fruitful and wonderful friendship. Mike was ordained to the ministry in March 2021. After the retirement of Pastor Dickman, the church voted to call Mike as their Pastor on August 13th, 2023.

Mike loves playing soccer, collecting pocket knives, and grilling steak. He also has a heart for expository preaching. He knows that the call to shepherd the flock is a weighty responsibility and is glad to be used by God in this way!
